Maida P
Maida is an author of two books, a food and travel writer, and a journalist based in Melbourne, Australia. She has written hundreds of magazine articles for international publications such as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Straits Times, SBS, CNNGo, Business Traveler, Reader’s Digest, Timeout Singapore, Foodservice Consultant Magazine, CEI Magazine, and many international food and travel publications. Maida is the author of two books: “Do’s and Don’ts in the Philippines” and “Six Degrees of Expatriation: Uncovering Lives of Expats in Singapore.”
Maida has a Master of Arts Degree in Gastronomy from the joint program of Le Cordon Bleu and the University of Adelaide, and a liberal arts degree from Smith College in MA, USA. She is also the recipient of the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) full scholarship for Gastronomy. Her dissertation was marked with Distinction.
She has lived in five countries: the Philippines, the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and seven cities. She has chosen to call Melbourne, Australia home with her dog. She consistently remembers the names of the dogs in her neighborhood, but often forgets their humans’ names.
