Karen is a writer and poet based out of Manhattan, New York. She’s written for newspapers, magazines, and blogs. Her articles have been featured in Apple Daily, Columbia News Service, and The Midtown Gazette. Her poetry has been featured in Wild Court, The King’s Poet, Small Leaf Press, KCL Literary Society, KCL Journal, Phase Magazine, Bitter Melon Poetry, and Imaginings.
She loves writing profiles, features, reviews, and long-form investigative pieces. She is most fascinated by stories that focus on marginalization, local culture, history, the LGBTQ+ community, senior citizens, as well as all aspects of pop culture (music, film, television, poetry, literature, style, and food).
Karen graduated from King’s College London with First Class Honors. She graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in May of 2022. She also founded the King’s College London poetry magazine – The King’s Poet – and led the King’s Poetry Society. At Columbia, she founded the Columbia Poetry Society.
She made her debut as a poet at the Nuyorican Poets Café in early 2022.
