Ellie is a writer based out of Brooklyn, New York. She’s written for newspapers, magazines, and digital publications. Her work has been featured in The Journal News/LoHud, The Daily Voice, Mashable, WNET/WLIW, @Protest_NYC (Twitter), The Guardian, (soon-to-be TheCity.nyc), and The Daily Beast. She’s interested in immigration, stories of cultural dissonance, wealth inequality, labor & class, climate change, and the LGBTQ+ community.
She was a Stabile investigations fellow at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and received a double B.A. in English Literature and Journalism from SUNY Purchase College in 2019. Her investigative thesis looked at the intersection of public housing, climate change, and public health in New York City. She’s worked on a handful of conglomerate/family profiles, ranging in topics from HIV to alternative family models.
She’s the daughter of an Irish immigrant and spent her childhood between Ireland and the United States. She loves painting, playing the guitar, traveling, and cooking for her friends.
